On April 10, 2024, the survivors of the Nova massacre returned to the place where it all began for the first time.
What was the experience of returning to Re’im like?
This healing project aims to bring the survivors back to Re’im in order to reconstruct the memories from a place of control and allow exposure to the site of trauma from a safe perspective. From the moment registration opened, hundreds of survivors signed up.
Ultimately, those who embarked on the journey were survivors of the massacre who were able and expressed the desire to to find closure.
A significant part of the preparations for the event involved group cohesion, including organizing a pre-trip bonding day held a day before the journey at the Arena complex, which was specially established by the Arena Balance Association, aimed at supporting Nova survivors and their families.
Therapists from the “Safe Heart” association also participated in the bonding day.
