בשבת השחורה אפיק הקפיץ את עצמו לבסיס איך ששמע על ההתחממות והגיע עם החפ״ק שלו ראשונים לישוב נחל עוז
בכניסה לישוב נתקלו במחבלים והחלו קרב במהלך הקרב המפקד של אפיק וקצין האגם נפלו ואפיק שהיה גם חופל בתפקידו ניסה לטפל בהם ובזמן הזה נורה ונפל

אפיק היה ילד מיוחד החיוך היפה שלו אף פעם לא ירד לו מהפנים, הוא היה מוקף בעשרות חברים ולכולם נכנס ללב באופן מיוחד
אפיק אומנם היה אחי הקטן אבל הייתי לומדת ממנו המון, מתייעצת איתו על כל דבר הכי קטן ונשענת עליו שקשה לי
הוא היה החבר הכי טוב שלי.

During the battle, Afik's commander and officer fell and Afik tried to take care of them, and at that time, he was shot and fell. Afik was a special boy, his beautiful smile never left his face. He was always surrounded by dozens of friends, and he entered everyone's heart in a special way. Afik was indeed my little brother, but I would learn a lot from him, consult him on every little thing and lean on him, which makes his loss so difficult for me. He was my best friend.
