אלון שמלי, בן 34, היה מבת ים. הוא היה הבן של אבי וסימה, והאח של רותם וזיו. הוא היה נשוי למור.

אלון ומור יצאו למסע מצרי בתחילת אוקטובר כחלק מקבוצה מאורגנת. למרבה הצער, ב-8.10.23, יום לאחר האירועים של הטבח בדרום, שומר ביטחון במקום כיוון את הירי לעבר קבוצת המטיילים הישראליים באלכסנדריה, מה שהוביל למותו המוקדם של אלון. לצידו, גם שני אזרחים ישראליים ואזרח מצרי נוספים איבדו את חייהם.

אלון תואר כאדם שמח, אופטימי ואוהב מאוד, עם צניעות מרהיבה, ביטחון עצמי עמוק ויכולת לחיות את הרגע. ספורט היה התשוקה שלו. הוא היה בוגר ווינגייט, שירת כמורה לספורט בבית הספר "ראשונים" בבת ים, ארגן טיולים וגם עבד כעוזר מאמן במחלקת הנוער של הפועל תל אביב. דרך אהבתו לספורט, הוא חינך אינספור ילדים, החי בהם אמון עצמי ועזר להם לגלות את הכוחות שלהם. חסרונו מורגש מאוד על ידי הרבה תלמידים שמתגעגעים אליו מאוד.

אלון ומור חלקו קשר בלתי ניתן להפרדה. במשך 13 שנים, הם טיפחו מערכת יחסים מלאה באהבה ובאינטימיות, פעמים רבות יצאו יחד להרפתקאות ברחבי העולם. בהתבוננות על הזמן שלהם יחד, מור הביעה: "אי אפשר לתאר במילים 13 שנים עם חברתי הטובה ביותר, אהבת חיי. הקשר שלנו הוא בלתי ניתן להפרדה. אני מחכה בקוצר רוח למפגש שלנו, אהובי, גיבורי, מלכי. אתה כל עולמי. בלעדיך, העולם שלי חסר משמעות. חסרונך יוצר חלל בלתי ניתן לתיאור."

אביו, אבי, כתב מילים: "אלון, בני היקר, אהוב וטהור לב, חסרונך מורגש מאוד. הקרנת שמחה, ענווה וחמלה, וכך הגעת ללבבות של כל מי שהכיר אותך. המורשת שלך חיה בקרב אינספור הילדים שלמענם עזרת להגשים את חלומותיהם. כמדריך, מחנך ומנטור, נגעת בחיים רבים ותמיד היית שם כשהייתי צריך אותך."

אסף גרנשטין, מנהל מחלקת הנוער בהפועל תל אביב, נזכר באלון באהבה: "אלון היה באמת יוצא דופן. הצניעות שלו, החיוביות והמחויבות הבלתי מתפשרת שלו לערכים שלו היו ללא תחרות. הוא הקדיש את עצמו בכל הלב לשחקנים ולמחלקה שלנו, יצר קשרים עמוקים הן מקצועית והן רגשית. חסרונו מורגש מאוד על ידי כל מי שהיה לו הכבוד להכיר אותו."

לירון פורט שיתף: "אלון היה דוגמה לכנות ולמצוינות. הוא גישה לכל אינטראקציה עם תשומת לב, אדיבות ואופטימיות בלתי נגמרת. תלמידיו העריצו אותו בזכות יכולתו לזהות את הפוטנציאל שלהם ולהדריך אותם באמונה בלתי מתפשרת. עד היום, הם מדברים עליו בהערצה ובתודה עמוקה."

Alon Shamli, aged 34, hailed from Bat Yam. He was the son of Avi and Sima, and the brother of Rotem and Ziv. He was married to Mor.

Alon and Mor embarked on a journey to Egypt in early October as part of an organized group. Tragically, on 10.8.23, a day following the events of a massacre in the south, a security guard at the site targeted the group of Israeli travelers in Alexandria, resulting in Alon's untimely demise. Alongside him, two other Israeli citizens and an Egyptian citizen also lost their lives.

Described as cheerful, optimistic, and deeply loving, Alon possessed a captivating modesty, profound confidence, and a knack for living in the moment. Sports were his passion. A Wingate graduate, he served as a sports teacher at the 'Rishonim' school in Bat Yam, organizing trips, and also lent his expertise as an assistant coach in the youth department of Hapoel Tel Aviv. Through his love for sports, he mentored countless children, instilling in them self-belief and helping them discover their strengths. His absence is keenly felt by many students who dearly miss him.

Alon and Mor shared an unbreakable bond as a couple. Over the course of 13 years, they nurtured a relationship filled with love and intimacy, often embarking on adventures around the world together. Reflecting on their time together, Mor expressed, "It is impossible to encapsulate in words 13 years with my best friend, the love of my life. Our bond is indissoluble. I eagerly await our reunion, my beloved, my hero, my king. You are my everything. Without you, my world is devoid of meaning. Your absence leaves an unfathomable void."

His father, Avi, penned heartfelt words: "Alon, my dear son, cherished and pure of heart, your absence is deeply felt. You radiated joy, humility, and compassion, endearing yourself to all who knew you. Your legacy lives on through the countless children whose dreams you helped realize. As a coach, educator, and mentor, you touched countless lives and were always there when I needed you."

Asaf Granstein, the youth department manager at Hapoel Tel Aviv, fondly remembered Alon: "Alon was truly remarkable. His modesty, positivity, and unwavering commitment to his values were unparalleled. He dedicated himself wholeheartedly to his players and our department, forging deep connections both professionally and emotionally. His loss is deeply felt by all who had the privilege of knowing him."

Liron Porat shared, "Alon epitomized integrity and excellence. He approached every interaction with attentiveness, kindness, and boundless optimism. His students revered him for his ability to recognize their potential and guide them with unwavering faith. To this day, they speak of him with profound admiration and gratitude."
