בבוקר יום שבת, 10.7.2023, עם פרוץ מתקפת הטרור, אביב הייתה בבסיס שבו שירתה בתור משקיפה בכוח הגנה על הגבול. במהלך שיחת טלפון עם משפחתה, היא תיארה את הרקטות, היריות והצעקות. בשעה 7:38 בבוקר, היא שלחה את שלושת ההודעות האחרונות שלה: "יהיה בסדר, אמא," "בעזרת השם," ו"תקראו תהילים." לאחר מכן, נקטע הקשר איתה, וארבעה ימים לאחר מכן הגיעו החדשות המרירות על נפילתה.
אביב הייתה מאוד מוכשרת. היא ניגנה בפסנתר, בגיטרה ובכינור. אביב גם אהבה לאפות עוגיות ועוגות. יש לנו בעמוד שלנו מתכון לעוגיות שהיא נהגה לאפות כל הזמן.
תפקידה של אביב היה משקיפה. אביב שירתה בנחל עוז, בסיס שנמצא על הגבול בין עזה לישראל. היא אהבה את תפקידה מאוד, והיא הייתה מאוד אחראית על כל הדברים שקשורים לתפקיד. היא תמיד אמרה להוריה, "אם קורה משהו לחייל, זו תהיה האחריות שלי." למשקיפים יש תפקיד מאוד חשוב ומשמעותי, והם מצליחים לסכל הרבה מתקפות טרור. אביב תמיד כיבדה את הסובבים אותה ואת משפחתה. ברגעים שבהם אביב הייתה מסתתרת, כל מה שהיא עשתה היה לשאול את אמה אם המשפחה בסדר, לוודא שהמשפחה שלה נמצאת במקום בטוח, ולטפל בחבריה שסביבה.
היא הייתה אדם צנוע, טוב ונכבד, שתמיד שם את האנשים לפני עצמה. כבוד הורי נדיר. כשאביב הייתה בגן, היא אמרה לאמה שהצבע האהוב עליה הוא שחור. כששאלה אותה למה, אביב ענתה: "כי אף אחד לא מצביע עליו." היא הייתה מאוד רגישה לאחרים ודאגה לאהוביה. אפילו ברגעים האחרונים שלה, היא שאלה על רווחתם של בני משפחה שונים.

On Saturday morning, 10.7.2023, with an outbreak of the terrorist attack, Aviv was at the base where she served as an observer in the Border Defense Force. During a phone conversation with her family, she described the rockets, gunshots, and screaming. At 7:38am, she wrote her final three messages: “It’ll be okay, Mommy,” “With God’s help,” and “Read the Psalms.” Then, contact was lost with her, and four days later, the bitter news came about her downfall.
Aviv was very talented. She used to play on piano, guitar, and violin. Aviv also used to bake cookies and cakes. We have on our page a recipe for the cookies she used to bake all the time.
Aviv’s role was an observer. Aviv served in Nahal Oz, a base located on the border between Gaza and Israel. She loved her role very much, and she was very responsible about all the things that came with the role. And she always used to tell her parents, “If something happens to a soldier, it will be my responsibility.” The observers have a very important and significant role, and they thwart many terrorist attacks. Aviv always respected those around her and her family. In those moments when Aviv was hiding, all she did was ask her mother if her family was okay, make sure her family was in a safe place, and take care of her friends around her.
She was a humble, kind, and respectful person, always putting people before herself. A rare parental honor. When Aviv was in kindergarten, she told her mother that her favorite color was black. When she asked her why, Aviv answered: “because no one votes for it.” She was very sensitive to others and worried for her loved ones. Even in her final moments, she asked about the wellbeing of different family members.
Our Aviv, our beautiful angel. “The song of your life stopped in the middle.” And we’ll do everything to make you last forever. Missing you endlessly. Begging for another hug from you, for another moment that suddenly we burst out laughing and no one will understand, and especially for another smile of yours. The most beautiful smile in the world!!! And mainly, we can’t believe that you’re no longer here with us. The longing is endless. We all believe that in the end, “the flowers will bloom again.” 🥀 Love you forever.
