סמל אריאל אוחנה נפל ב-8/10/2023 בעת שהגן על קיבוץ בארי. הוא התגייס ב-22 באוגוסט לצנחנים ולאחר אימון הצטרף כנגוסט לגדוד 890 בצוות אט"ק. ביום שבת, 7.10, בשעות הבוקר המוקדמות, קפצו אריאל והצוות שלו מנבי מוסא במסוק לקיבוץ סעד והלכו ברגל כ-5 ק"מ לקיבוץ בארי. למחרת, ב-10/8, באחד הבתים, נכנס המפקד ראשון ונפצע. אריאל, שנכנס אחריו, פתח זיג מאחורי המקרר בלי לחשוב פעמיים, ופתח בקרב בינו לבין המחבלים. אחד המחבלים על הרצפה פתח בצרור יריות לכיוון אריאל, ואחד הכדורים פספס את האפוד שלו ופגע במותניו. אריאל לחם כ-30 שעות בקיבוץ בארי, הרג כ-7-9 מחבלים והציל 120 חיים.

Ariel was a charismatic, empathetic, smiling and funny person. He loved those close to him very much, and helped them with everything.

Sergeant Ariel Ohana fell on 10/8/2023 while defending Kibbutz Be’eri. He enlisted on August 22nd for the paratroopers, and after training, he joined the 890th battalion “Afea” in the ATK team as a Negvest. On Saturday, 10/7, in the early hours of the morning, Ariel and his tsivutu jumped from Nabi Musa in a helicopter to Kibbutz Sa’ad and walked about 5km to Kibbutz Be’eri. The next day, on 10/8, in one of the houses, the commander entered first and was injured. Ariel, who entered after him, opened a zig behind the fridge without thinking twice, and started a battle between him and the terrorists. One of the terrorists on the floor started with a bunch of gunshots in the direction of Ariel, and one of the bullets missed his vest and hit him in the waist. Ariel fought for about 30 hours in Kibbutz Be’eri, killed about 7-9 terrorists and saved 120 lives.
